The ICCA curators to date

Seven Indigenous curators go global

The Pātaka Foundation in partnership with Creative New Zealand (CNZ) and the Indigenous Curators Collective (ICCA) delivered the first of a three year programme of curatorial exchanges. The programme enables Indigenous curators from Aotearoa to join the ICCA delegations programme to foster international collaboration and cultural exchange.

In 2025 we proudly supported seven curators to participate in various global engagements including the Hawai’i Triennial, FORGE Project and The Met in New York, and the ICCA Gathering in Saskatoon. These engagements are carefully selected to align with the goals and objectives of the ICCA, with the intention of sharing knowledge, experiences, and innovative practices.

Next year, the Foundation is excited to support six curators from Aotearoa to participate in the ICCA International Delegations Programme and attend major exhibitions and events including the Venice Biennale and the Indigenous Quinquennial at the National Gallery of Canada. Delegates will be able to connect with other Indigenous curators and visit important global art moments to strengthen their professional development and extend their own practice.

Applications close 30 January 2026 for the 2026 Aotearoa Delegation programme. See more here.
